Are you tired of working with companies who apparently represent your best interests but yet take 15% of your check and still make you wait 60 days or more to get paid, claiming they need to get paid by the client first?
Welcome to [SMP] Initiative.
We are the game-changer. Synchronicity Motion Pictures insist on paying crew at the end of every shoot, before we are even paid, because everyone has bills to pay, and when times get hard, you can't wait months to get your hard-earned money. Knowing that their check is waiting, a crew member will deliver their best work and love what they do, without the stress of waiting for something which might not even arrive.
We are not a job search website, and reach out to crew when jobs within their field arise. While we do not guarantee a steady flow of work, which is impossible in this ever-changing industry, we do 100% guarantee that you will be paid, at the end of your shoot.
Requirements:
- You must have over 7 years of experience to apply and a solid body of work, be it in the corporate, commercial, documentary, narrative, music or dance fields.
- All crew members are expected to carry insurance for their gear as well as health and vehicle insurance.
- All crew members are required to wear either a Synchronicity Motion Pictures cap, or T-shirt (provided for free).
You must fall into one of these categories:
Light - Gaffers, electrics, grips.
Shoot - DPs, camera ops including gimbal steadicam, crane and jib ops or camera car ops.
Fly - Drone operators - must be Part 107 certified.
When adding yourself into these categories, you may select 2 Shoot and Fly if you are a DP and drone op, but cannot select all 3.
How it works:
1. Apply below. It's self-explanatory, adding your resume, reels, references, proof of insurance, the usual stuff.
2. When approved as a vetted crew member, you are part of a group of filmmakers who know a company powered by crew, has their back. You'll select the swag you want to use on set, cap or hat, and given an SMP crew icon to display on your website which says you're part of a team who cares.
3. If you're hired, you'll sign off on a crew deal memo, W9 and close to gig day, a call sheet.
4. Turn up a few minutes before call time, wearing your SMP gear (required), shoot out your day/s.
5. Get paid right after the entire shoot.
6. Smile and wait for the next one. It's that simple.
